No matter where you are in your journey - we are here for you!
For 10 years, Magen Mishpacha, a non-profit organization in Israel, has been supporting Russian-speaking returnees seeking to realize their abilities and find employment in a new country, especially in the human-to-human field. We create inclusive spaces, train new specialties and implement projects for children, youth and parents.
Whether you are concerned about your child’s development, looking for resources and education on interacting with children, need emotional support, or want to find like-minded people to discuss parenting, moving, adjustment, stress and socialization, we are here to help.
All together we are a team of inspirers, creators, dreamers,...
We strive to create a world where everyone can find their purpose, feel meaningful and important. A space where uniqueness is valued, individuality is supported and talents are discovered. It is a world filled with care, understanding and mutual support, where everyone will find their way and be heard.
Magen Mishpacha is a place of strength for parents and children. The balance we strive for lies in the interaction of the three forces concerned – parents, madrichim and children.
Our mission is to educate and inspire parents, professionals and children to work together to shape a community based on respect, equality and caring.

THE MAGEN MISHPACHA WAY
“The journey of a thousand li begins with the first step.”
“Magen Mishpacha” is being established as a social movement that is mainly concerned with protecting the rights of parents and returnee children and fighting against the arbitrariness of social and municipal services
Registration of the official non-profit organization Magen Mishpacha. Ms. Keren Fishzon becomes Chairman of the Board and CEO. The NPO has more than two hundred volunteers who deal with hundreds of inquiries about misadventures in the jungle of local bureaucracy
Recognition of Magen Mishpacha NPO as an organization entitled to execute state orders and provide tax benefits to patrons. Start of the pilot stage of the “Meeting” project
Receipt of the first state subsidy for the “Encounter” project, opening of the first four permanent groups in three cities
Pandemic. Encounter groups go online and their number grows to six; in parallel, Magen Mishpacha implements two short-term projects of psychological and technical support for people affected by quarantines, as well as a professional online Hebrew course
The number of groups grows to ten, the first course of “madrichs” (instructors) is successfully completed, and they begin leading groups
Due to the expansion of funding and the tremendous interest in the project among new war wave returnees, groups are opened in eleven cities and the number of NPO staff grows to 30
The beginning of cooperation with David Yellin College, one of the oldest colleges in the country. The one-year joint program graduates professionals in two fields. The first stream graduated in 2024, and two new ones have begun
The number of groups increased to fourteen; thanks to the arrival of a significant number of specialists, the groups were divided into children’s and teenage groups. The first Magen Mishpacha summer camp was held in the Czech Republic. The NPO’s budget crossed the threshold of 1 million shekels (approx. $300K). Most of the expenses are covered by the NPO’s own income, less than half by government grants
I myself marvel at how beautifully we're doing. We have been creating, polishing, building and rebuilding, and polishing again for ten years. We recruit new people, train (or learn from them), quarrel, reconcile and learn to work together again. It's still safer to live in an inclusive world where you have the right to be different and have the right to make mistakes. Join us as parents.
