Choose your city of practice

Magen Mishpacha children's groups operate throughout Israel, offering you a great opportunity to gain practical experience under the guidance of experienced mentors.

I HAVE A QUESTION...

The course covers a range of topics, including:
Inclusion and working with neurodivergent children
Key aspects of child psychology
Group facilitation and dynamics
Communication skills
The education system and children’s rights
For a detailed list of topics, refer to the course presentation.
You can see a detailed list of topics in the course presentation.

Absolutely! A psychology degree is not required to join the course. You only need to have a higher education degree in any field or experience working with children or in inclusive settings.

While a background in social professions is an advantage, it’s not mandatory.
What matters most is your passion for working with children and your commitment to exploring the topic of inclusion in Israel.

If you plan to be away for a certain period and miss some practice sessions, simply inform your course coordinator. They will offer alternative ways to complete the required practice hours upon your return. Additionally, the course allows for up to 20% absence from sessions, as long as you attend at least 80% of all activities on time.

You can choose a group in the nearest city to you. After six months of the course, you can express your interest in starting a group in your city. At Magen Mishpacha, we support such initiatives and are committed to expanding the number of groups. If possible, we will do our best to make it happen.

Contact the course coordinator to discuss your options. Depending on the type of missed activity (lecture, supervision, practice, etc.), there are different ways to make up for it. For example, you can watch an online session recording or attend a guest meeting in another city to make up for missed practice.

Supervision for facilitators and students is an online meeting with a professional supervisor aimed at discussing situations that arise during group practice and finding solutions.
Each month, there will be a meeting with two supervisors from the organization:

1. Psychologist;

2. Sensory integration specialist

Supervisions do not need to be paid for separately, they are included in the training package.

You will attend a 2-hour in-person meeting with your group once a week. Depending on your chosen city for practice, this could be a children’s or adolescent group.
Three times a month, you will participate in a 1-hour online supervision session. The schedule varies by city.
Zoom classes typically take place on the first and third Friday of each month, lasting 2 to 2.5 hours, starting at 12:00 PM.
Additionally, there are pre-recorded lectures that you will need to watch independently, taking around 2-6 hours per month.
Altogether, this constitutes your monthly commitment.

Currently, 80% of facilitators at Magen Mishpacha, working in various cities, received job offers either during their training or immediately after completing our course. We are committed to ensuring that successful students stay with our team, and we regularly create job opportunities.
In Israel, there is also a high demand for specialists in working with children, especially those with knowledge and skills in inclusion. With the certification and significant practical experience gained, you will be a valuable candidate for potential employers. You can find employment in schools and informal education projects, both in public and private sectors.

Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a certificate issued jointly by the NGO Magen Mishpacha and the David Yellin Academic College. The certificate will be sent to you via email and presented in person at the graduation ceremony held at the college (Jerusalem).
A sample of the certificate is available in the course presentation and on the website.

No, subsidies are provided directly by the Magen Mishpacha organization. To study at a subsidized price, you must fill out an application and undergo an interview with a representative of our organization.

And Another Important Question

How Much Does the Course Cost?
