“Encounter” is a unique project of the Israeli non-profit organization Amuta Magen Mishpacha, helping children to make friends. And you can join it!
Statistics show that modern children live most of their free time in a closed space with a gadget in their hands. Because of the lack of real communication, communication skills suffer. Hence difficulties in establishing contacts, resolving natural conflicts, and finding friends.
The Meeting Project is a children’s group where a relaxed atmosphere of communication is created and the voice of each child is heard. When accepting a new child into the group, the mentors carefully study his/her needs, desires and peculiarities, and create an accepting environment.
Project mentors are well-trained professionals who speak several languages and have the necessary education to lead such integration groups. Each mentor working in our project receives regular professional development from the best specialists in the country and weekly supervision with a professional psychologist.
The project is based on the principle of self-organization of children. How does it work? No two meetings in the group are the same, each meeting is unique. The monthly program is drawn up based on the children’s wishes about what they want to do and where they want to go. Mentors try to realize children’s ideas and initiatives, from indoor workshops to trips around your city or even the country. Children paint, dance, create crafts, play board games and outdoor games, go bowling and go-karting – you can’t name it all!
“Encounter” is a safe space where children discover their strengths and learn to accept their own and others’ individuality. The project is inclusive and we welcome children with special difficulties and limitations.
Meetup groups are open all over Israel: in Haifa, Afula, Nof ha Galil, Netanya, Petah Tikva, Modi’in, Rishon le Tzion, Ashdod, Ashkelon and the list is constantly expanding.
It costs parents only NIS 115 per month to participate in the group. The subsidized price includes weekly 2-hour meetings, participation in workshops and activities of the children’s choice.
Project “Meeting” is a unique and amazing place where friends are made and interests are realized. Here children’s motivation for joint action, creativity and communication is discovered and supported.
